Watercolor is my passion

Watercolor is widely regarded as one of the most challenging painting mediums to master. Its transparency requires thoughtful planning in both composition and construction. As an artist, I am drawn to the deliberate pre-planning process that watercolor demands, as well as the challenge of building layered textures that bring a painting to life. With every painting, I strive to achieve a sense of realism while still embracing the crisp, clean brilliance that is unique to watercolor.

My subject matter varies widely, encompassing portraits, still lifes, and both urban and rural landscapes. Regardless of the subject, my goal is to create strong contrasts in texture, scale, and shape, enhanced by dramatic light and shadow. These elements allow the work to engage the viewer from a distance, inviting them in to discover the finer details up close.

My paintings have been exhibited in juried shows across the country, including the National Watercolor Society (NWS), the Transparent Watercolor Society of America (TWSA), and the Michigan Watercolor Society (MWCS).

I am a Signature Member of both NWS and MWCS and am proud to have been published in Splash: The Best of Watercolor.
